April 30th - BF Goodrich Drag Wars at Texas Motorplex

Well my car didn't perform that well but I did, go figure.

Weather was not being friendly with us Sunday so the race day was cut short. We didn't get started until about an hour and a half after we were supposed to. Because of the delay there was only 1 round of time trials. I needed much more.

I ran my time trials with the 100hp jets in and no other modifications. It really kicked in on 2nd and 3rd gears but at half track I lost my extra power. Come to find out one of my fittings were loose and my bottle was now empty.

1st round. I got my bottle filled and decided to give 100hp 1 more try. I found out rather quickly that my clutch is gone. After mere moments into spraying into each gear my clutch lost it and i cam too close for comfort with the red line. I still won, go figure.

2nd round. Bumped down to the 75hp jets. Just to see if my clutch couldn't handle 100hp or if my clutch was fried. I found out that my clutch was still holding. Held all the way in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Ran a 16.06 and still won by reaction time alone.

After the 2nd round completed the weather came back and the track officials decided to call the race. I got my rain check, free admission to the August race, which I was planning on going to anyway. I am going to see if I can get my engine built using reinforced rods, forged pistons, better head, and bored out throttle body, and intake manifold before the August race. I would at least like to get the block rebuild so I can use 100hp NOS to it's full extent. I am also going to upgrade the clutch but found that it will be rather easy with the help of my fellow club members.

I didn't get any pictures done this time because the weather was not friendly and with all of the changes to my car I didn't have time to show anyone how to use my camera. Next race I will be more prepared.
